NeuroDiversity

Neurodiversity is a series of oil paintings inspired by the anatomical structures of the human brain, an organ with endless complexity. The term "neurodiversity," which originated within the disability rights movement, refers to variations of mental functions in a non-pathological sense. In contemporary neuroscience and medical practice, it is understood that our brains' structure and function are impacted by genetics, experiences and environments, and that the brain continues to change throughout the lifespan.

System Imaging (in progress)
System Imaging is a series of 11 ink drawings on paper and vellum created in 2019-2020, (in progress). Each image represents a physiological system of the human body. By taking the anatomical forms out of context and presenting them in an abstracted, artistic way, the viewer is invited to reflect on their own relationship to their own body, and the associations we have with how the parts "fit together" uniquely within each individual.
Sensory Systems
Sensory Systems is a collection of small scale ink drawings created in 2010-11. Abstracted human body parts overlap and flow together creating imaginary maps of the human body systems.
Not For Prophet
Not For Prophet is a group of works created between 2008-2010. The work questions American society's relationship with the institution of medicine, as well as my personal reflections on experiences within that system. Materials range from digital and handmade drawings and to modified hospital gowns and an interactive "surgery" toy.
These pieces were on display in May 2010 in Champaign, IL, in a two-person show with Sean Brice.
Pretty Girls
Pretty Girls is a collection of illustrations created in 2013-2014.
These drawings have been showcased at Brew Brew Coffee Lounge, Robert Jeffrey Hair Salon, and Black Couch Gallery in Chicago.
